Micro Finance Organization Association “Woman & Development” in a new independent country-Georgia represents an active, non-banking, non-governmental micro finance organization aiming lending micro loans to women under poverty line to reduce poverty and promote economical welfare. Since 2003 “Woman & Development” implements micro finance activity in country’s one of the regions – Shida Kartli and today it represents one of the smallest, but high professional and dynamically growing micro finance institution in the scale of the country.
Target group of “Woman & Development” is the rural and urban poorest women at economical risk living in the region. The mentioned category continually feels deficit of easy access on flexible and stable financial resources to start private business. One of the effective ways to fill it is financial service of “Woman & Development”.
Micro lending project of “Woman & Development” basically differs from local banking credit projects. Disbursed small loans by the organization in the geographical area acknowledged not as Banking product but effective tool for poverty reduction and social-economical development among women.
Nowadays loan capital of “Woman & Development” is not enough to satisfy local poor women’s growing demands. Therefore we are actively seeking the ways and means for appealing funds to strengthen and extend existed loan capital resources of “Woman & Development”. The outcome will be that more women will be able to overcome poverty and reach economical welfare.
As your organization is one of the international donors such micro finance organizations aiming poverty reduction in developing countries through micro finance, we would like to address for grant or loan application. Please, send application form and information on Grant or loan process and criteria or exact web site address with the corresponding information. With respect,
Mrs. Phati Bukhrikidze,
Chairperson of the Board

I am writing to apply for Volunteer Program in your institute. I received a B.S. in chemistry from Beijing University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from University of California at Irvine. After working in a pharmaceutical company for one year, I started my current job as a Patent Technical Specialist in the Department of Intellectual Property at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP. I would like to broaden my horizon about the American culture and meanwhile improve my interpersonal skills. I believe you may have diversified programs to match my special skills. My available time will be: after 5 pm during weekdays and weekends.
It will be my great pleasure to have the opportunity to be involved in your program. If any further information is needed, I would be happy to provide resume and references. I’m looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

I am a professional in the US banking industry, and I am looking to make a career switch to micro finance in Latin America. Would any of the Directors have time to help me with an informational interview?
I have an MBA from a top 10 US school, and 14 years of domestic banking and investment banking experience. I have lived in Peru for three years, and have learned to speak Spanish fluently. But my work there has been as a teacher, not in finance.
Please let me know if anyone would be available to give me advice on ways to break into the industry.
Thank you,
Steven Simons

gentlemen:
we are a not-for-profit, non-government organization managed by women that
is engaged in microfinance for poor women in the philippines. at present,
we have more than 15,000 member borrowers/savers. however, our growth is
being hindered by the lack of funds.
we would like to submit a proposal to your organization for a possible
investment or loan to our organization. we can send you our annual report
for 2007, projections for the next ten years, and our manual of
microfinance operations. may i know the proper contact person to whom i
shall send the documents?
we are looking for loans from $100,000 to $500,000 payable in five to
seven years. a low interest rate is ideal, but anything lower than 12%
p.a. is acceptable. that is our present rate for our loans from a local
government financial institution.
should you grant us a loan, we intend to deposit the proceeds in dollars
here in citibank manila and borrow against this dollar deposit from
citibank in our local currency. in this way, we are not exposed to foreign
currency risks. thank you so much for your time.

Dear Sir,
I am writing to inquire as to whether your organization might be willing to take on a volunteer. I am a graduate student at Columbia University studying International Affairs and I m very interested in the intersection of Microfinance and Capital Markets. Thus, I was hoping that I might be able to work for your institution and learn about your operations.
If this is at all feasible I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further.
Thanks so much for your time,
Geoffrey Jones
